Products

The Hippie Dyer products are dyed using Procion MX. These dyes are classed as fibre reactive dyes which are the most permanent of all dye types.

Unlike other dyes, it actually forms a covalent bond with the cellulose or protein molecule. Once the bond is formed, what you have is one molecule, as the dye molecule has become an actual part of the cellulose fibre molecule. This also means that the rest of your washing is safe from the wonderful colours that you can get. If you would like more info on this, please get in touch.

Due to the nature of the dyeing, there will be colour mixing, occasional colour transfer and colour variation. If you are wanting something ‘perfect’, tie dye may not be for you.

If you or any member of your family are allergic to animals, please be aware that The Hippie Dyer products are made in an animal friendly environment, however the products are kept away from them.
